Montreux Jazz Festival 1983 (Keith Haring)

This poster features a playful design created by Keith Haring for Lake Geneva’s Montreux Jazz Festival in 1983. Since the 1970s, the festival organisers had been commissioning celebrated artists to create poster designs that were sold to support the much-loved music festival. To celebrate this joyful event, Haring created three expressive drawings of dancers using a fluorescent colour palette. Offered for sale internationally, the success of this poster series contributed to Haring’s popularity in Europe.
